The murder of his father-in-law and the assault on his wife occurred at his rented house in Sumber Tempur Hamlet, Mojokerto, on Wednesday morning. The Police Chief stated that the perpetrator's father-in-law was aware of the assault on Sri Wahyuni, leading him to kill Siti Arafah, his mother-in-law.
The first issue was jealousy over his wife, who was considered irresponsible towards her family. The third was economic issues, indicating that there appeared to be an economic disparity between the victim's wife and husband within the family.
The suspect cried several times while recounting his marital life. He admitted that he had long known about his wife's affair but chose to remain silent until his emotions escalated. He stated that he had always felt unappreciated as a husband.
#Persecutor's Perspective: Even if the perpetrator felt hurt or was involved in economic problems, Islam strictly forbids resolving disputes through violence or murder. "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, he will abide therein forever, and Allah is angry with him..." (QS. An-Nisa: 93)
#perspective on the victim: In-laws have a very high status in Islam, equal to biological parents in terms of obligations of devotion and respect.
#perspective on the perpetrator's wife: the wife in this case is a victim of Western abuse. Islam creates a family to protect and love the wife, not harm her.
